engaging culture with every step

For architects, designers, or businesses, combining authentic Indigenous art with premium carpet tiles is a way to honour Country in a range of spaces. It invites visitors to connect with culture and the stories that have shaped it for generations.

Country (Boodja)

The Nyungar Nation has unbreakable bonds with the land we walk on. Kevin’s design ‘Boodja’, is a representation of the ancestral wisdom that exists on Country. His design features layered, speckled dot formations that trace traditional markings and ceremonial patterns passed down from his Elders and Ancestors that resonate with the physical and spiritual world.

Inspired by Western Australian’s landscape, the palette uses burnt sienna and ochre with soft sand tones and charcoal, reflecting earth, coastline, and the land’s powerful renewal through cultural burning.

Waterholes (Ngamma)

Kevin’s ‘Kataa Morda’ design is deeply rooted in culture, honouring Nyungar leaders and the ancient story of the Waagyl (Rainbow Serpent), that has been told orally for thousands of years. Through sinuous linework and layered topographies, the piece tracks the movement of the Waagyl as it shaped the rivers and valleys of the Darling Ranges.

Choose from earth-drenched browns inspired by bushland bark and escarpment rock, sun-warmed ochres from walking tracks cutting through the hills or riverine blues shaped by the winding waterways of the Darling Scarp. These tones trace the paths of the Derbal Yerrigan (Swan River), Djarlgarra (Canning River), and the Serpentine River – which derives its name directly from the Waagyl.

Darling Ranges (Kaata Morda)

With ‘Ngamma’, the floor becomes a living space that embodies the sacred songlines traversing Nyungar Country. The flowing linework, concentric waterhole motifs, and layered textures signify the Bidi, or spiritual pathways. These function as arteries mapping physical routes, cultural memory, seasonal wisdom, and deep connections to waterholes, food sources and sacred sites.

Anchored in modern design, you’ll find a palette similar to other designs in Kevin’s collection like earthy ochres, river blues, forest greens and the red country dust, all drawing inspiration from the West Australian landscape.
